Prayer is
a relationship
to come back to

Not a programme to get through

“Faith is first and foremost
a personal, intimate encounter
with Jesus...”

— Pope Benedict XVI

For the Catholic struggling to pray

You want to pray, but you just keep arriving at nothing.

Should prayer be this
difficult?

“Earlier in my youth, I religiously attended prayer meetings, cell groups, and bible studies, eventually taking the leap into full-time unpaid ministry. But when Covid lockdowns took all these away, I completely lost my sense of purpose.

The uncomfortable truth was that my relationship with God was largely kept afloat by the things I did "for Him". Despite the 17 years of devoting my life to ministry, I hadn't developed a deep closeness with a God who loved me.”

“In the 9 years I’ve spent sitting with youth ministry leaders, young professionals and people who faithfully showed up every week, I saw many who followed a "textbook" faith - regularly attending Mass and devotions, actively participating and serving in ministry - but yet felt little or no closeness to God.

This had a cost: prayer slowly drifted into dry obligation, a subtle but growing loss of purpose and direction, and burnout once the fire finally faded.”

John 3:13-17
God sent his Son so that through him the world might be saved
Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost
but may have eternal life.
For God sent his Son into the world
not to condemn the world,
but so that through him the world might be saved.’

“This app made scripture accessible especially with its audio function that narrates Scripture while on the go. The highlighting function helped in the reflection and meditation of scripture verses, and the guided walkthrough simplified the entire process.”

Questions

Is this just another devotional app?

Not quite. Being With God starts with you: a customisable home page that shows your journal - where you are or where you last left off. Many people struggle with knowing how to relate to God in prayer, so our core feature is the Reflect button, which gives you guided options for different reflection methods, like Lectio Divina, the Examen and the Rosary. If you're already overwhelmed by content and under-nourished by depth, this difference might be for you.

I'm not very religious. Is Being With God still for me?

Being With God isn't for people who have it all figured out. It's for people who still show up, try to live out their faith but quietly wonder if that's all there is. People who want something more personal that focuses on a prayer conversation just like in every relationship. If that sounds familiar, you're probably exactly who this is for.

I'm busy. How much time does this actually take?

It fits the day you're having. Some days you only have three minutes, so you capture how you noticed God moving with an image or a voice note in your journal. Some days you need a guide, and a gentle guided reflection walks you through it. Lectio Divina, for example, is 8 short steps, and you can stay however long you like at each. It's built around the daily Mass readings, so there's no prep and nothing to catch up on. And some days you need something external like a retreat or event. With The Companion tier, the app brings together Mass and devotional times, retreats, and events, starting with a small group of parishes and centres.

Is this for Catholics specifically, or Christians generally?

Being With God is built around the Catholic liturgical calendar and devotions, with the daily readings ranging from the Old Testament to the New. Some parts are specifically Catholic, like the Rosary and finding Mass & devotional times through Seek. But a relationship with God and His Word is for anyone, so you can use what you find helpful.

What's the difference between the free and paid versions?

The Wanderer is free, and the heart of the app stays free as we grow: daily Mass readings with verses you can highlight and save, guided prayer reflections like Lectio Divina, the Examen and the Rosary, a private journal with photos and voice notes, and community reflection sessions, including a daily circle that's open to everyone.

The Companion adds audio narration of the readings and guided reflections, so you can listen with your eyes closed or on the drive to work. It also adds Seek, which brings Mass times, retreats and events together (starting with a small group of parishes), hosting your own community reflection sessions, and first access to new features and to Restore Being events before they open to anyone else. The Companion is at a founding price right now, and once you're a founding member, this rate is yours, even if you take a break. You'll find the current price in your currency on The Companion card. The founding tier closes permanently when we launch on the App Store and Google Play, so if something in you already knows you want to go further, this is the right time.

What is the Companion founding tier, and why does it close?

The Companion is the founding tier, for people who want to support what Being With God is becoming even before it reaches a wider audience. Once you're a founding member, this rate is yours, even if you take a break. When we launch on the App Store and Google Play, the tier closes permanently and this price won't be offered again. We want to honour the people who believed in us this early because that trust really means something to us.

Is my data safe? Can anyone read what I write in my journal?

Your journal is private, and it lives on your device. It isn't uploaded to our servers, so nobody on the Being With God team can read it, and it isn't shared with anyone. That includes your photos and voice notes. You can back it up and restore it whenever you like, which is also how you bring it with you if you change phones. Your account runs on Supabase and Hostinger, secure and widely-trusted platforms that hold only what you choose to share when you sign up, such as your name and email. We built this for the interior life, and what happens inside the app stays inside the app.

Who is behind Being With God, and is it safe to subscribe?

Being With God is built by Aaron and Crisabel, a small Catholic team in Malaysia, not a big corporation or a wellness brand trying to corner a market. Just people who felt something was missing and decided to build it. We're a registered Malaysian company (Spade & Cor Sdn. Bhd.), and payments are processed securely through Stripe, the same platform used by millions of businesses worldwide. We don't handle your card details directly, and you can cancel anytime from your account settings. The app is already live at restorebeing.me and used by a real community, and you can start free before you pay anything.

How do I cancel my paid subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your account settings. No hoops, no emails to send, no waiting for someone to get back to you. After you cancel, you keep The Companion until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Audio narration and the other Companion features then end, and The Wanderer stays yours, including your journal.
